Leather Shoes: a consolidated path in the international market
Occupying a prominent position within Brazilian production and exports, the footwear industry forms a solid connection between the country and the rest of the world. According to Fazcomex, in 2019 alone, more than 114 million pairs were shipped, reaching revenue of US$967 million.
Fast recovery sector in times of crisis
In addition, despite having suffered a drop of 18.4% in production and 18.6% in exports in 2020 due to the pandemic situation, activity in this sector is expected to grow around 12% this year, according to data announced by Abicalçados, Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries. This shows how this sector is consolidated and, consequently, easy to recover, an essential aspect for the current conditions.
Potential business partners in different parts of the world
Within this context, leather shoes deserve special attention, considering that their sales abroad accounted for around 40% of the total collected by the sector in 2020, as shown by data provided by the OEC, Observatório de Complexidade Econômica. With the main destination in the United States, to which US $129 million were exported in 2018, according to the DataViva portal, these shoes also stand out in markets such as China, the United Arab Emirates, Italy and South American countries, such as Argentina and Chile.
The importance of assistance from an international consultancy
As Brazil is a world reference in the footwear sector, it is extremely important that traders in this sector are updated on the achievements and projections of this industry, both nationally and internationally. In this way, consulting services will bring great advantage to those who want to grow their business responsibly and accurately, based on detailed data analysis and profitable destinations for their products.
