Wheat flour: the traditional path to success

Since the beginning of wheat cultivation, dating back to 10,000 BC in the Mesopotamian region, the flour from the grain took little time to emerge and consolidate as a key element for most recipes that we take to the plate daily. From the first Egyptian cookies emerged around 4,000 BC to the creation of instant noodles in the 50s, the ingredient remains continuously on the list of the most consumed, in an analysis by ABITRIGO based on IBGE data, only in Brazil 40.62 kg are eaten of wheat flour per capita.

High and continuous demand for wheat flour.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), in the corresponding period between the 2015/16 and 2019/20 crop years, the global wheat production was estimated at 3,758,715 tons, being possible to use 75% of each grain for the elaboration of the flour. In addition, in a report, the online platform The Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC) pointed out as the main consumers of the product: Netherlands, United States, France and Bolivia, importing US$249 million, US$207 million, US$175 million and US$96, 1 million respectively.

Growing export to the United States.

Furthermore, according to data from the OEC website, Brazil is responsible for 0.31% of world exports of wheat flour, yielding a total value of US$13.8 million, with Venezuela being its biggest importer, however, the United States comes becoming a potential consumer, as in 2019 it was the second largest importer of Brazilian flour, purchasing just over 50 tonnes of the product, as stated in an ABITRIGO report. However, in addition to the main importers, Guyana stands out, a country which consumed Brazilian wheat flour in the period between January and April 2020, US$4.043 thousand in FOB value, with a variation of 3,241.3% in relation to the previous , as noted on the Comex Stat online page.

The importance of the performance of an international consultancy.

Therefore, given the essential character of wheat flour and its high and continuous demand on a global scale, the internationalization of the product appears to be an almost certain investment, however, to guarantee its success, it is necessary to understand the importance of the international consulting service , aiming at a strategically thought out and effective process, thus obtaining success.
